This is a tutorial on the studio version. The song is in standard tuning.

All chords are strummed on the up beat or the (and) of every beat. When you count 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 the chords are played on the "and" on 1 2 3 4 you are strumming muted strings. Essentially you are strumming muted strings before every chord you play.
