Right Hand Resting Position


My basic right hand resting position is with the thumb on the D string my first finger on the G string my middle finger on the B string and my ring finger on the high E string and in most cases those fingers play the strings that they rest on. The thumb also plays the A string and Low E string. There will be many cases where a finger will play a note it normally does not rest on so this is just a rule of thumb! (Ha! No pun intended)
